Ambassador lrfan-ur-Rehman Raja (5th CTP) is a seasoned diplomat with a wide range of experience. He has the honour of representing Pakistan in various capacities in Spain, Argentina, West Germany (the reunification of Germany, of which he has first-hand experience, took place during his tenure of posting), Niger, Kenya, Bangladesh, Egypt, Kazakhstan and Greece.
While serving as Pakistan’s Deputy High Commissioner in Dhaka, Amb. Raja valiantly defended the role of Pakistan’s gallant armed forces during the 1971 crisis at an academic seminar at the Bangladesh Institute of Strategic Studies. This didn’t go well with the Sheikh Hasina Wajed government, which declared Amb. Raja persona non grata on December 15, 2000 and gave him only 13 hours to leave the country.
After a meritorious service spanning over 35 years, he retired in 2013 as Ambassador Plenipotentiary to Greece.
For the past many years, Amb. Raja has been affiliated with the World Times Institute, the premier academy for aspirants to the CSS and PMS. He is also the chairman of the WTI’s Mock Interviews Board in which capacity he has guided hundreds of candidates.
