A veteran jurist, writer, politician and Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, Hamid Khan needs no introduction. He is a founding partner of Cornelius, Lane & Mufti—a leading law firm in Pakistan. Being a prominent lawyer, he has served as the Chairman & Vice Chairman of Pakistan Bar Council, former vice-Chairman of Punjab Bar Council and former President of the Supreme Court Bar Association. He regularly lectures on various legal subjects at the University of the Punjab, the Civil Services Academy, the Administrative Staff College, and the National Institute of Public Administration. He is an Ebert and DAAD Fellow, and a member of the Hague Academy of International Law. Mr Khan has authored a number of books, including ‘Administrative Law’, ‘Comparative Constitutional Law’, ‘Constitutional and Political History of Pakistan’, ‘Islamic Law of Inheritance’, ‘Judicial Organ’, ‘Administrative Tribunals for Civil Servants in Pakistan’ and ‘Eighth Amendment: Constitutional and Political Crises in Pakistan’. Mr Khan has also authored a number of articles on legal and social topics in periodicals and newspapers.
This book is an Urdu translation of his monumental work, ‘Constitutional and Political History of Pakistan’. Translation has been done by renowned lawyer and mentor, Mr Waqar Aziz Bhutta.
