Dr. Tasawar Abbas Basra is one of the few blessed people in Pakistan to have earned a PhD at such a young age. He is a renowned researcher in the fields of agriculture and environment. He has published various research articles in peer-reviewed, high-impact journals in his field. His vast knowledge in the fields of agricultural chemistry, soil science, soil and environmental microbiology, agricultural biotechnology and agronomy enabled him to execute advanced research on sustainable agriculture, soil health, salt-affected soils, biological control of agricultural pests, plant-microbe interactions, soil fertility and plant nutrition. He is a pioneer scientist in Pakistan to have developed bioherbicide using rhizospheric allelopathic bacteria. His expertise on quality management in laboratories under ISO-17025 has also been acknowledged. He has served in various positions of research in his field at University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, and the Department of Agriculture, Government of the Punjab.
